When you are foreign, being in the UK in this period means a lot of things: a long time before you can see your parents in person even respecting the self distancing, because there is no flight; too much time with your partner at home and arguing constantly; too much time to eat and no space at home for the workout; no possibilities to receive deliveries from your country (it has been almost two months that I am waiting for a parcel from Italy – my robot-cooker that is my time-saving resource!-); being increasingly homesick.
All of these things, I am sure, will be sooner or later a thing of the past. It isn’t the end of the world. It is a big obstacle that is challenging our certainty. We have to re-prioritise our life but it doesn’t mean that the world is at his last lap.
It is a great lesson for all of us, a very costly one. Not only for the things we are losing but more for people we are losing. Too many. So, It is for them that we need to be strong and be happy for what we still have. Our happiness is the best weapon against any kind of disease.
So, do your best to be happy and to spread another contagious thing: smiling 🙂
